How to bloom Bulbophyllums in General Male
Default How to bloom Bulbophyllums in General

I really enjoy Bulbophyllums and I have many of them. But over all I feel I could use some help blooming them. I have the temperature in my greenhouse intermediate and humidity is about 75 percent using a fogger. Good light. I have six fans going 24/7 at lower speed. Most of the Bulbo's are planted in Sphagnum moss either in wooden baskets or bulbo type clay pots. I keep the moss moist but not wet. Watering once per week with MSU fert. Seaweed other weeks. Any new ideas for me to try???
Thanks,
Gregory

Greg i know lots of Bulbos grow well in different media
but i find mine do best mounted with roots exposed so they get good soaking and then allowed to dry ,when i say dry not strickly true with all the moisture in the air,
as you have high humidity try mounted,i think they like the humid air wafting through their extremities
i have a macranthum mounted on a wire box filled with spag so spag is always damp but the root will not go in,
try a couple,in nature they cling by their roots ,on branches under branches, but not in media, never seen one in the wild but i assume

Try a 10 to 20 degrees F drop from day temps to night temps.
