B. Phalaenopsis - is this to much glaucous bloom?
Default B. Phalaenopsis - is this to much glaucous bloom?

I bought a few healthy bulbs about a year ago and this growth was just starting.

It’s been right beside my north east window the entire time.
Leaf is about 6” longer, and bulb about 3 times the size of the older ones so I assume all is well.

I’m just wondering if this glaucous bloom might be trying to tell me the light is to much.

Hoping someone here might have more experience with these. 🤞

Apologies for the awkward photo.

I don't grow this species, so my comments are pretty general. I don't see a bloom spike, just a relatively new leaf. The glaucous coating is normal. I think the plant is still much too small to bloom - it can get HUGE. (That's the reason that I don't grow it, with limited greenhouse space... )

Thanks Roberts that’s great to hear.
I won’t worry about it then.

I was just talking about the glaucous, growing up it was called bloom(the haze) so I’m in transition linguistically.

Sorry about the confusion.

I haven't grown it either, but I consider the same phenomena a good sign on Ryncholaelia digbayana. In my mind it means you are on the higher end of the comfortable amount of light for your plant. That is exactly where I try to be with my plants.
