Not sure if you knew this or not, not all Bulbos smell like raw meat, dead fish, or dog poop.

Some smell like honey, some smell like fruit, or some don’t smell at all. There’s something for everyone.

The whole meeting was recorded. You can skip the Show and Tell and the rest of the "meeting stuff" (I think that's last 45 minutes or so) and you may want to fast-forward through part of the talk (when he's getting into the pix of his awarded plants... he goes pretty long) The advantage of viewing the recording... you don't have to sit through the less interesting parts. But the culture material is well worth spending the time with. So there's about and 45 minutes or an hour of content that you likely will want to absorb.

medusae started blooming for me this year. Bulbos seem to need to get big before they flower - at least that is my experience.
I grow mine intermediate (regularly at 58), and it never really gets above 85. It does OK - 2 or 3 blooms at a time, but I haven't yet seen it covered in flowers.
Never noticed a scent.

this is true BUT, the coolest ones have the worst smells :biggrin::rofl:

For me it's a seasonal grower, with growth in spring and summer, flowering in autumn, and rest in winter.

If you pot it in a basket with a bark/sphagnum mix and keep it under 50% shade cloth (or hang it in a tree) during the growing season, it should do great. Mine loved the hot, humid, rainy summers outside in Kentucky. Weekly 1/4 strength fertilizer will encourage it to put out new growths and spikes.

Mine spike in late summer and bloom in late autumn. Then they don't do anything for a few months while they recover their strength. New growth starts popping out in the spring.

I let my medusae dry out every once in awhile and they do not mind. If you are going to keep it indoors for the winter, the southeast exposure is good, and it's ok to keep it drier, especially if the home is cool.

And as for fragrance, I smelled one at a show that reminded me of sweaty socks, but fortunately, mine has a sweet, musky smell, not offensive at all and actually kind of nice.

mine is closer to the sweet bordering on over ripe sweet scent...hmmm socks is bad..i think id take rotting flesh over socks
