Gettin' there but to me looks like new growth. Years ago I read and have found that new spikes resemble "mittens". But as Roberta said let it do its thing. And it's fun to wait! Mine is also making me wait it out.

I agree, My B. Longissimum (which the B. Elizabeth should have a lineage of) have similar growth habit. I saw the spike tuck between the crevasses of the bulb in the first pict so it's defenitely a new growth after the previous bloom.
