Black spot on Bulb. longiflorum?
Hello, can anyone please shed light on what is happening to my bulbo? I received it from Hausermann on Saturday. It has this large black spot. I watered it well on Saturday since it was bone dry. It site in an indirect southwestern window. Sunburn? Rot?

is that mushy? it looks like cold damage to meet, perhaps in shipping it was exposed to something chilly
i cant imagine a sun burn in the conditions you describe

Yes, it mushy.
I hope it is 'only' cold damage, though I received it on Saturday afteroon. I just isolated it & emailed Hausermann. I am observing, took images. I only noticed this spot now, because of its size and this leaf facing away from me due to its placement on the sill. Sad face. |

Sunburn and/or insufficient water. They need to stay wet, wet, wet when not in moss.

Thanks ES, I only got it two days ago. I watered it and it has been kept moist. Which is why I am not sure if the culprit is watering.

Also, I will add that the reddish tones to the affected leaf was there, as it is a characteristic of this bulbo according to reference images. My question only pertains to the mushy black spot which has spread across the leaf. Thanks! |

It was growing in a very humid greenhouse and probably being watered daily. Now it's in a low humidity home. Bulbos have short roots and not many of them. They need water, water, water.

Okay, I checked and it is not dry, nice and moist. I will water daily. Do I just leave the leaf as it is? Treat it or cut it off so nothing fungal sets in? |

I would leave it alone. It will demarcate and fall off. Other people would cut it off.
