Ths "shoe" (fused lateral sepals) part is nearly 2 inches (4 cm) long and about 3/4 inch (2 cm) wide. The lip is mobile - wiggles in any breeze. I have it mounted on a particularly thin piece of cork, that has some holes in it. Note the roots on the back of the mount, that have found those holes. This one I have to grow in the greenhouse.

This "Dutch Shoe" is so couture. A fave of mine.

Thanks! So much is blooming! Maybe this is orchid perversity... since they tend to finish just before an orchid club meeting, or bloom a week after. But with no meetings, they're just blooming nonstop.

Ooooo! So cool! I actually have this one on my wishlist. You mentioned you have to grow it in your greenhouse - are they hard to take care of? I was hoping to put one in my orchidarium, which stays at room temp, around 80% humidity. Do you think it would do ok?

Thanks, DC!
Plum Crazy, it would do fine at room temperature in your terrarium. My orchid collection mostly (about 90%) lives outside, with winter low temps are around 40 deg F (4.5 deg C) or even a bit lower. Anything that can't be that cold needs to live in the very crowded greenhouse where winter lows are more like 60 deg F. (15 deg C), more like indoor temperatures, somewhat more humid than inside the house.
