Bulbophyllum (Megaclinium) purpureorhachis
Default Bulbophyllum (Megaclinium) purpureorhachis

this has long been on my list of dream orchids and i believe it will be very happy in my climate...i have one question which is about the light tolerance

i found this
"Found in the Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, Ivory Coast and Zaire in lowland forests as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte"

and that screams Phal light or in that range to me and i currently grow all my bulbs really bright in the area of my lath house that is half under the eave...so half mottled sunlight and half bright shade

since this is a pricey orchid ( by my standards anyways) i don't want it to be unhappy or worse, to die.

I gut says it is okay but i wanted to get some expert opinions

i pulled the trigger and purchased this guy

i had an unusual expereicne ordering from Andy's but, as always, Andy demonstrated why he is a pillar in this community and he straightened everything out. Aces.

I am quite taken with the plant as it is quite large by Bulbo standards and it has a spike which is totally other worldly.

Pics to follow ASAP

Lol. If you look at the net for pics of this plant as a specimen, it looks like a nest of cobras!!
