List of Pleasantly Fragrant Bulbophyllum
Greetings, to all.
I have been diversifying my orchid collection since 2015, and since then I have been blessed to be able to acquired quite a considerable number of rare, exotic, and most importantly, orchids that I completely enjoy; like, Stanhopea, Coryanthes, Chysis, Catasetum, Cycnoches, Peristeria, Paphiopedilum, Vandaceous, Dendrobium, Brassavola, etc.
99% of my collection consists of fragrant orchid species, a quality that I truly appreciate, and look for in orchids to add to my collection. Being fragrance one quality that I consider of importance when selecting an orchid, I have been quite reluctant to even consider the possibility to add a Bulbophyllum orchid to my collection, given their reputation of being foul smelling.
However, I recently got intrigue by the appearance of a Bulb. longissimum's long flowers, and was wondering if its fragrance is good or foul? And so, I decided to make this thread as a central place to list pleasantly fragrant Bulbophyllum orchid species, to help not only myself but others, as well that are only interested in having orchids of good fragrance in their collections.
Thread Instructions:
1. Bulbophyllum species name
2. Fragrance information & description
3. Experience with the plant (Optional)
4. Flowering season
5. Flower duration (Optional)
6. Flower photos (Optional)
Example:
1. Bulbophyllum cocoinum
2. Has a nice fragrance of coconut...
3. A vigorous plant, that is mostly fragrant in the morning...
4. Flowering Season: Autumn
5. Flower Duration: A week or so...
