Stalled new growth in cattleya
Default Stalled new growth in cattleya

One of my cattleyas has been growing a new growth that has stalled for a few months. The pseudobulb has some brown scarring it looks like and the leaves are brown on the outside. It has pushed out a newer growth but it looks like it’s starting to do the same. On closer inspection I noticed on the newest growth there are super tiny red dots that I would not have seen without a flash light. I’m thinking spider mites, but they aren’t moving and I didn’t think they were that small to begin with. On one of the other mature leaves, the underside looks to have some damage which looks like spidermite damage? But I believe it has been there since I got the orchid last March. Any ideas?

It does look like spider mite damage.
