My poor vanda does not look well. I am new at this. I bought her about 6 months ago. At that time she had about 4 additional roots which have since broke off. The remaining original root is very thin. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I don’t know much about Vandas but to help others advise you, it would be good to know about your growing conditions such as light, temperature, watering regime, and fertilization. The more detail you can provide the better.
Yes, before we can answer we need to know about where you live, the temperature, the humidity, how much light you're giving it and how often / how you're watering it.

Sorry guys. I live in Florida. Currently its been chilly so i bring them in at night. Otherwise they are in my screened back porch. I water daily and fertilize once weekly (3 wks dyna gro 1 week dyna bloom.
Usually when Vanda roots die back like that, it's from not enough water. How long do they stay dark green and wet after you water them, before they dry to silver or tan?
Motes Orchids in Homestead mainly grows Vandas. They have a monthly E-mail newsletter detailing what you should be doing with your plants currently. You can sign up on their Web site.
