This is one of my favorite little Cattleya crosses. First bloom on a wee little plant in a 2 inch pot.
The flower opened redder than any Pole Star I've seen. The color has changed a lot in just a few days.
The first picture was taken on Dec. 31, the second on Jan 4.
Update: By request, I took another picture today - the color seems to have stabilized. The flower is sizable for a polestar. Looking forward to seeing this one get big enough to produce multiple blooms!
The 4th picture is of a friend's Pole Star, out of the same batch of seedlings. You may already suspect I'm a little jealous. You'd be right.
But I have a couple more of these seedlings that haven't bloomed yet, so there's a shot I'll still get one like the one in the last pic.
