A dormant Catasetum could easily spend 3 or 4 months sealed in a box, and as long as temps were good it wouldn't miss a beat when it came out.

Dormant plants and those with pseudobulbs will fare the best, but I have seen phalaenopsis survive bare root for three weeks coming from Asia to me in the US, although they were VERY desiccated upon arrival, so took some babying to recover.
