No, like they said above, this is normal and nothing to worry about. If it were one of the newer growths that was just a year or two old and it lost its leaves, that may be cause for concern, but old growths toward the back of the plant will naturally lose their leaves after a few years.

Emma,

Cymbidiums grow all year. They slow down a little in winter due to lower light level, but they do not have a rest period.

You should fertilize year round, but scale back a little from late Nov through February.
In March, add a Tbsp or two of slow release fertilizer in each pot.

SO good to know Fair Orchids! It has some brown leaf tips that from before purchasing it, from research it appears this isn't uncommon for cymbidiums and it just due to over fertilizing/mineral buildup. As a result, I haven't fertilized it at all over the past few weeks and just have been flushing with RO water...

Would you say I should start back with light fertilizing?
