A Dead Leaf
Default A Dead Leaf

On my newly repotted and newly-leafing phal, is a leaf that has a crack down a portion of its center. I've now noticed a distinct yellow coloring traveling further down the leaf. It's dead . . . how do I remove it so that the plant doesn't continue trying to revive the leaf? If I cut it off then it will have 3 original leaves and one new leaf in the center.

Is it one of the lower leaves?
I've had that happen...I just cut it off close to the base of the plant, using a sterilized clipper, then dab on some cinnamon for protection.

I'd just let it drop off on it's own. The plant won't try to revive the leaf, quite the opposite. It will use up any remaining nutrients in that leaf before it drops.
