Hello All,
I just noticed that the new brand of "orchid food" I just started does not contain the micro-nutrient boron. Is this better, worse, not significant? My phals are potted in bark, watered with tap water. The city water analysis does not measure boron content, but I've never heard of boron deficiency (or excess) being a problem locally.
Thanks
Boron in extremely tiny amounts seems to be needed but is very toxic for most plants. I think we have plenty in ground water everywhere in Arizona. I would not add extra.
I have read one reason serpentine soils are toxic for many plants is the high boron content.
