Default Cymbidium leaves turning brown at base

Hello I have been searching the web for what might be ailing my cym with no luck. maybe someone here can help? This is very sad as this is my one orchid who reliably bloomed for me and seemed to be doing well. the brown is starting between the leaves on the inner surface and travelling up the center of the leaf

I'm not quite sure what's going on, crown rot perhaps. How do you water this plant? Water trapped in the leaves, especially late in the day, can lead to rot.

Do you grow it outside?
If so, I wouldn't mind about it.

It kind of looks like the rot is creeping up from below and working from the inside out, suggesting possibly stem rot. See if you can poke/peek at the very base of the plant, see if it is still hard and healthy. If so, then move up and see were the rot/squish begins.

You may have to reduce the amount of water you provide the plant. If you are watering at night, and the leaves are getting watered, it might lead to this problem as well.

Default thank you all

I sent a photo to my local orchid society they suggested I remove the growth and check for rot. I took the new growth completely off and disinfected the wound with peroxide and sealed with cinnamon. the rot didn't go right down to the crown thankfully and the roots still looked good. I grow inside as I can't handle the bugs that get on them outdoors (not to mention my outdoor space is very sunny and hot in the summer). fingers crossed for this guy, hes my last cym, my other 2 got turfed due to mosaic virus, and i have a hard time finding standard cymbidiums for sale in canada. Thank you for all the replies and sorry for the late response, for some reason I didn't get any reply notifications to my email.
