Weird thing growing inside orchid stem?

Hey guys!

Bought a new orchid, just discovered this thing on the stem of the orchid. It kinda looks like a large bump on the orchid stem with a bean stuffed inside it...(lol)

Sorry the pics are sideways again! I don't know how to fix it!

Maybe it’s a new air root that got caught up in the leaf sheath rather than breaking through?

It's a root. I have had the same happen on another Phal of mine. They go downwards inside the leaf sheath instead of breaking it.

Hi guys!

I put a drop of water in there and it turned green so it is a root! Thank you so much! I was worrying that it was some kind of plant tumor(I know, I freak out easily). I did make sure to clean out the excess water so it doesn't rot.
