Can my orchid regrow?
Default Can my orchid regrow?

I accidentally broke my orchid while moving it, can the part in the picture regrow roots? What must I do? How do I add a picture of it? It’s like a newly grown stem and the leaves haven’t start to open yet.

Gwen, I saw the picture of the broken part in another thread. It is unlikely that your broken piece will grow, but the larger plant, the source of the broken piece, will keep growing and send out new growth if you continue giving good culture.

If you want to try to do something with the broken part, you need to provide high humidity, warmth, and low light. If you search for "sphag & bag" on this forum, you will find some discussions of this technique. A good soak in a kelp fertilizer wouldn't hurt either.
