Hello,
I finally succeeded in getting my orchid to grow a new stem and a second beautiful bloom. EVERY other orchid I’ve killed by over-watering them.
This orchid has been growing strong; strong roots, healthy leaves, and big flowers. The roots are still in a clear plastic container. When I watered it a week ago I looked closely at the roots and saw these little white “sprouts”. Sprout is the best word I can think of. Does anyone know what those sprouts are? Are they normal? Far from normal?
I’ve attached photos of my last bloom and then the funky sprouts. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Mushrooms. They're feeding on decaying organic material, and are harmless themselves. Of course the decaying organic matter they're feeding on is your potting medium. Might be time to repot.

Thank you for your help! I never would’ve guessed mushrooms. Yes, my pot has holes on the bottom. I think the mushrooms may have died out. The plant and the roots are still very healthy. I’ll see how it goes.
