Thumbs up MOS show comments and acquisitions

Did you get to the MOS show???
How did you like it?
What did you think of the new location?
What did you sneak into the house from the show?

I thought the show was a success.

It appeared that the sales were brisk and constant, the displays were awesome, and everyone was patient and helpful. I was pleased to see the variety of orchids for sale there and the venders were very helpful, if not harried at times due to the crowds. The selection of paph's was amazing, and gave me a greater appreciation for this amazing orchid. (As you can see, my collection of them is growing!)

The only drawback that I saw was the lack of space. I think they could easily double the sales and display areas and still fill them without a problem.
Like my son said in his 'mini's' thread, we spent as much time working our way through the crowds as we did looking/shopping, not that it slowed down our buying at all!

I don't collect the 'micro's' like my son does, but I am starting to collect more compact plants.

Here is what I picked up;

Aerangis citrata
Den. Yellow Chinsai 'Little Joe'
Den. Tosaense 'Jacob' CBR/AOS
Paph. Sakhakulii
Paph. Delenatii
Phal. Equestris

None are in bloom, but half are in spike. (Pictures of these and the show will follow in a day or two.)

I know it's small potatoes to many of you major addicts, but my minor addiction has reached 40 orchids..... and I'm still married!

Thanks Sue.

My son is Tim. (Orchidophile)
He came up from Ohio for the weekend to attend the show.
(He is a 'mini' collector and very knowledgeable.)

MOS show comments and acquisitions Female
Default MOS show

Did you get to the MOS show???
Yes! This was my first show, I am just starting to "collect" orchids. My boyfriend tagged along with me, which was strange to me since we usually frequent car shows instead.

How did you like it?
I thought it was alright...... I think they needed a bigger place to hold a show. It was very hard to see things as everyone was crammed in. We went on Sunday and the sales room was PACKED. Made it hard to see things and talking to a vendor was almost impossible.

What did you think of the new location?
Eeeehhh I think they need a bigger one still... Not sure where it was held in past years. Is the MEC bigger?

What did you sneak into the house from the show?
I only brought two things home with me... I still live at home and Mom's starting to notice that her plants are being pushed aside LOL Im at about 10 now so I have to wait awhile to bring more in. The first one I got I think is a Zago.. the second one immm not quite sure... I guess ill see when it get big. I figured if i got a small one Mom wouldnt notice it as much

Princess - The first is a Zygopetalum and the second orchid looks like a Phalaenopsis.
They look happy and healthy
Is the Zygo fragrant ?
