Hi Shade.
In replay to your question about MOG. Here are a lot of comments that I agree with, so I may repeat some of them.
I don't believe she gives bad information but neither is good. I think she is inexperienced and her constant testing of growing orchids goes along with her advice to newbies without the indication or clearly saying "I don't have a clue but I am testing this or that". It is OK to test, but sometimes she talks like an expert and that is confusing. I know growers, that have been in the hobby for 50yrs and will never put their hand on fire like she dose, and the worse is she doesn't have to do that to have followers, she is talented as a YouTuber, no need to go deeper into facts that she couldn't have proven to herself just yet. Part of that is that she has change it her entire collection to 4 different cultural methods in the past 8 yrs and now she is back to 'traditional" bark. To me, that alone tells you that her goals are subjected to what she wants or needs or for business but not really what's best for the plant or species.
I appreciation the job she does, I know for fact is arduous and she is a professional, eloquent and correct YouTuber, but I don't agree with the "full statement approach".
I wish her and all youtubers or influencers the best! However, I would love them to become more reluctant about confirming subjects, topics, etc.
