need help saving blue color-infused orchid

all! My name is Holly =) I am new to the care of orchids in general! that being said, I have 2. one that had broken that I repaired w wax. I will attach photos to show u where the issues are. not sure if I should cut down to the spike where it has turned brown now?? or leave it be?? It only bloomed once since Ive had it....now I am assuming it is in its "resting stage"... Yikes! what do I do?!

Yes, that flower spike is on the way out, so I recommend that you cut if off as close to the plant as you can without damaging the plant itself.

That looks to be a reasonably healthy plant, so grow it shady and warm, with moderate moisture in the moss - don't soak it, and NO ICE CUBES!.

Most such phalaenopsis tend to be winter bloomers, and they will typically throw a new spike about 6-8 weeks after their average growing temperature is reduced by 10°-15° for about two weeks, which usually happens in the late fall, if the plant is reasonably near an exterior window.

Yes OW that is the one thing I do know LOL although some have said it may bloom back in a very light blue?! Heard and have seen it happen in other forums. Honestly, I just want a healthy plant =) Thx for the respond

There are no true blue Phalaenopsis, so it's highly unlikely the plant will bloom out very light blue.

There are some non-dyed Phals that are called "blue" or more commonly known as coerulea forms/varieties, but even they are shades of purples and pinks. And those are not the types that are used for mass produced dyed Phals.

The blue dyed Phals you see in garden centers and grocery stores almost always use white Phalaenopsis varieties since they come out the most blue, though they do sometimes use pink or purple Phals to get darker and more purple-blue color.

There may be a few odd cases where a plant rebloomed on the same dye injected spike, and the resulting flowers came out very light blue from residual dye in the spike. That's the closest you'd get to reblooming blue and even that is unlikely.
