Leaf problems

I'm very new to orchids and was given this a phrag. dalessandrol x kovachil. It was doing great up until a few months ago. I have attached a photo of some new growth but the tips are mottled. Any help on keeping this guy happy would be appreciated.

This is a sign of vascular stress. It means the roots aren't keeping up with the leaves' water needs. Did you let it dry out too much? Do you keep it too dry? Are the roots in good shape? Are you using good quality water? Are you making sure to flush the pot periodically to remove excess salts? Are you fertilizing heavily?

This hybrid should NEVER dry out. In fact, if all your other growing parameters are good, it would appreciate sitting with a bit of water in the saucer and frequent watering, up to and including daily watering. Water should be high quality, feeding should be moderate, with monthly flushing to remove excess.

Thanks for your help on this one. I was gone for a few weeks in April so it might not have gotten enough water then. The roots are not great but coming. So having it sitting in water is not a problem? Would sitting this in water with bare root in water help it along?
