Default New plant and issues finding culture info

Got a Stelis superbiens from the local Orchid society and aside from a bit of info on the flowers and leaf characteristics I'm finding bupkis on culture/care and feeding.

Any thoughts? Tried AOS and it was a bit sparse, about the only significant thing was it might be a terrarium type grower...

Thanks in advance.

What information are you looking for?

Andy's says bright to shade in intermediate.

Orchids Limited says cool with medium light (kinda ambiguous).

The difference in particulars can be due to the origins of their respective stocks. There can be a huge range for a species. The range for this is from Mexico to Peru with elevations of 1000-2000 meters. That's pretty big.

I don't grow this but if I were to start, I'd begin with bright shade in cool temps.

They can be grown potted or mounted, which do you prefer?

Well, right now the little guy is in a 2" clay inside a terrarium (bell jar).

Contemplating building a Wardian case as I and the wife have managed to go from a couple Phals and a Cat to a total of 30 plants, mostly Cats, including several that are case candidates as I understand.

Yep...Im an orchid addict.

A Wardian Case is not necessary for many of the larger Stelis spp.

I'm assuming this plant is being grown in moss. If it is, allow the moss to dry to the point where it is not completely dry/has a tiny amount of moisture left, then water again.

Bright shade to low end of moderately bright indirect light. Make sure to give them enough light where the leaves are a light green.

Intermediate temperatures of about 12.8 C - 32.2 C, (55 F - 90 F), should be adequate.

Humidity should be moderate to high, (70% - 85%), should be good.

Most of the larger Stelis spp. should be fairly easy to grow for those starting with Pleurothallids.

Actually the little guy planted in fine bark and clay pot.
It gets intermediate light levels via windows that face E. Overhead sky lights add to the level some but they also face E. Right now the leaves are light greenish and it has thrown 2 new leaves and a root so far...

The case Im thinking of is more for other larger plants I've gotten, MT is a dry state with humidity levels in the 35-45% range.

The thought is putting the case downstairs where its cooler so I can play with orchids in the cool (above 40 but below 70F) and higher humidity ranges in more controlled conditions. Cant do the green house thing until I win the Powerball lottery...
