Keiki? Or no?
Default Keiki? Or no?

This mini phal seems to be 2. Can someone just take a quick look and tell me if the smaller one is a keiki? And what do i do from here? It was a present so i didn't get to see any of it progressing to this point. They seem to share the same 1 roo wich of course I nipped when snipping off the dead roots. There was only 2 other viable roots eft and they belong to the bigger plant.

Maybe it's a basal keiki.

Looks like a basal keiki to me. Leave it alone. Eventually more roots will likely appear and head for the medium. If you leave it attached, you will have a fuller plant for a nice presentation when finally both parts bloom.

Most Phalaenopsis normally branch from the base, forming a clump of rosettes. This is normal growth, and to be expected.

The bigger the plant, and the more rosettes in the clump, the better the flowering will be. Don't take off basal growths unless you are severely space limited.

Phal keikiis are plantlets produced at the non-flowered nodes on the flower stems. The flower stem will eventually die, so at some point a keikii must be potted up separately. This is not the case for a normal basal growth.

It is a basal keiki. It is best to let it grow the way it is. It is not advisable to remove it. Over time, they might separate from each other naturally on their own.
