Hello everone
I have a phal with a stem that i cut back after flowering. I have had success with them flowering again this way. I new there was growth on the stem and it has turned into these two little Leeds. Can anyone tell from the picture?
There is a problem with the other picture of the newest leaf. It's firm on the tip and bottom but almost mushy like in the middle. Does anyone know what that is and what to do with it.
The medium is bark. The temp is always set at 76° and I'm pretty sure there isn't alot of humidity, allthough I do have each one sitting on a saucer filled with stones which catches drainage and i fill it also. It's in a west window wich I have read isnt really a good thing but they have been there for years.
Yes, it looks like a baby. The mushy-ness of the new leaf is worrying. It looks like some fungal or bacterial infection has set in. Hopefully, someone more experienced with this will chime in. This might be a case where cutting below the level of the rot and applying hydrogen peroxide is warranted. I’d also make sure you wash your hand after touching the mushy part so you don’t spread it (if it is a pathogen).
