I'm not sure what's going on with yours. I have all of mine in 5-1-1 parts bark-perlite-charcoal mix. When I repot, most of mine sit for at least 3 or 4 months not doing anything and then just take off. I pot mine in clear pots so I can see what the roots are doing. I had one I repotted last September, out of moss, that just seemed to be sitting, I accidentally knocked the pot over back in December and it looked like it had lost a few roots (they may have been on the way out when I repotted) so it only had a couple of good roots but the vegetative growth looked okay as did the remaining roots so I put it back in its pot. Finally, this month it started pushing roots like crazy down through the substrate.

My Phals don't do anything fast. It makes them very forgiving when I goof, but it takes a long time for those not in great shape starting out to bounce back. If the leaves look good, and the roots I can see through the pot look good, I figure the plant is holding its own and I just make sure it's properly watered and fertilized.

Maybe your Phals that aren't doing anything just need time?

I noticed that those that have poor root system do best when placed in water culture. Those that have some roots just sit around. Maybe they just need time, we shall see
