Are they new plants/been moved recently? Extreme changes in temp, humidity, etc. can cause bud blast.

Or it could be what you're worried about and be an overwatering issue and therefore an issue with the root system. If the buds are blasting anyway, might be worth un-potting your orchids to see if they're roots are OK. I just un-potted a phal with open but wilting buds and the root system was almost entirely gone from some sort of insect...! I lost blooms but saved my plant!

Welcome to the OB In order for anyone here to be better able to help you with this, you'll need to provide quite a bit more info. Such as, what medium is your phal potted in? What are your temps? How often are you watering? And what kind of water? (well water, R.O. water etc.) What are your humidity levels? And pictures are a great help as well!

I just water when I think about it...i know thats horrible...im just starting to get into making them a hobby instead of just a houseplant...and i would love to post a pic but i don't know how...lol

Not a good idea to stand Phals in water.

Go to Forums in the left yellow menu, click on Beginners, and look near the top for The Phal abuse stops here.

Ok...i got a new phal on march 1st with one stem of flowers...they were doing great until...well i was trying to spray off dust from sanding spackcle on the walls and i let luke warm water run through the pots for about 5-7 minutes each...8 phals....about 5 days ago..the flowers are starting to drop...being the case with one i already had that I managed to get to bloom again...i previously have neglected them honestly...i have had this happen a couple of other times when I just watered well...the potting media is bark and i am going to repot them tonight and asses the root situation but in mean time does anyone have any suggestions for what might be happening?
