GM guys and gals

Hope your Sunday has been blessed so far! Looking to add a Dendrobium N. to my collection of 6 orchids. 2 no ID Phal, 1 Den Phal, 1 Oncidium Sharry Baby, 1 Cattleya Mossiae and 1 Vanda Pachara Pink. Looking for a Dendrobium N. that would fit in with these. I live in N.Georgia, any and all suggestions are welcome. As always thanks in advance for your help. Take care and God bless!

I don't have any of these but in my understanding they are quiet different then the ones you mentioned. Rest period in the winter and much colder temps. But I'm guessing you know this.

Not say-in it won't work.

Most Den nobile types are going to need the same culture. If you are able to meet their cultural requirements, then I think you can chose pretty much whatever nobile catches your eye!

There are a lot of species in this group, and even more hybrids. If you go to the Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia and go to Dendrobium, you can read about Section Dendrobium.

Yamamoto Dendrobiums in Hawaii sells a lot of hybrids, and has photos of them.

These all need similar care, which involves keeping them very cool in winter, but not freezing.

Some of these grow rather large, and also would do better "outside" in certain circumstances. Are you growing in the windows? Or outside?

I'll tell you how I grow my Nobile...it's easy...

Large North window but with bright indirect light...you're further south than I am so light won't be a problem.

Watering is when it's dry. A transparent plastic pot allows you to check for dryness. White roots=dry / green roots=not dry. Easy

Temps in summer around 24ºC (75 F). In winter between 12 and 14ºC (53 and 57 F).

Easy...

D. Noblie hybrids would be easier to grow than a species plant.

Thanks for all the replies, as always they are greatly appreciated

Ill be growing indoors, but I'm thinking of putting the Vanda outdoors for the summer. I just hate the bugs

I have large east and west facing windows. I also have a lower level that stays a lot cooler during the summer and even colder during the winter, that room also has an west facing window. Just learning as I go
