If ever Ching Hua Orchids (Taiwan) goes to shows near you, they have Onc Twinkles (a few variety) and they go for 3$ USD.. I ordered a dozen for gifts this spring and in the fall... Denis always brings me pretty big plants with 5 to 10 actively growing shoots!!

Good luck in your quest. If you guys would be in Canada I'd gladly ship them out to anyone interested.

How did it arrive? Would you recommend ordering through them?

It arrived in great shape! It's a tiny little thing, but seems healthy so far and it's blooming! I was not expecting that at all. I'll see if I can add a photo in a bit. Also, it was $6 and shipping was about $7, so very affordable (even for me, and I'm a grad student living below the poverty line)

I've ordered from Olympic twice as has ES. We were pleased with the quality and price. However, they are babies, and take extra care. Mine have grown very nicely.

Anybody know where to find the Cinnamon variety in the US? I feel like I tear up the internet looking for it everyday and I can never find it!

Remember, these "named" cultivars are mericlones, produced when a grower feels that they have a special plant. They only grow a finite number of them, then when they are gone they are gone. The same is true of hybrids in general - the ones that sell a lot may get either remade (and may or may not look like the ones that got the attention, certainly will not share the cultivar name) or mericloned. And over time, the repeatedly-mericloned plants may not look like the original either since mutations creep in. (Like Onc. Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance'... after many years of cloning and cloning the clones, fragrance may be lost, flowers smaller, etc. even if theoretically they are genetically identical to the original)

Once a hybrid has been around for awhile, breeders move on to try different combinations... that is the creative side of orchid production.
