I have had this beautiful orchid for 2 years now. I do not know its family classification.
It is gorgeous and flowers twice during the year. The sticker calls it:
Milt. Breathless "Hilo Galaxy" JC/AOS.
I love to hear your info about this beauty.
Thank you.
That is gorgeous! I have never seen a Miltonopsis colored quite like that one.
I congratulate you on being able to grow it and keep it happy. I am unable to keep any Miltonopsis happy and alive for any length of time. The like cool humid conditions and never want to dry out completely.
That miltoniopsis is so nice - you're doing a great job keeping it do healthy. Follow what Paul said about keeping if cool and humid - though if you have had it for two years keep doing what you have done. It is in the Oncidium/Odontoglossum Alliance, if you look in that section you will find other Miltoniopsis.
Thank you jcec1 and Paul.
I think it has been beginners luck that I did not kill this orchid. It is on my window sill, on the southern part of the house with my Phals. I only made sure that the soil was kept moist. It must like its location.
I am not sure what fertilizer I should give it, do you know?

Fertilizer is one of the less important factors in orchid-growing. If you have the light, temperature, and water right (and this plant seems very happy) it will thrive. If you have fertilizer for the Phals that is working for you, this one should do fine with the same formulation - use 1/4 to 1/2 of whatever it says on the bottle once a week or two, since orchids really are light feeders.
