Of course not, however it was an analogy, meant to convey the intent of settling and starting to grow. It will get used to it's surroundings, it will settle in and start to grow.

And I’m not sure what light meter app you are using but the ones that I have tried for my IPhone were way off compared to an actual light meter. For one plant though, the method that Orchid Whisper mentioned is great. |
Mobile phone light meters don't work unless the app was written for the specific charge capture device (CCD, "camera chip") and operating system version in the phone.
There is a sticky thread here dealing with learning to grow Phalaenopsis orchids. From the left yellow menu, choose Forums, then Beginners. Look near the top for the sticky thread The Phal abuse ends here. |

Hello, hi again.
My orchid is growing a new leaf. I'm not happy. It's supposed to be growing new roots. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...513_232106.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...513_232118.jpg I only have 1 good strong root left. How do I force the orchid to grow new roots? |
You don't. It wouldn't grow a new leaf unless the roots are adequate. I expect roots will be along soon.
