I’ve found my Phals do better with more ventilation too. For plastic pots that don’t have side ventilation holes or slots already, I melt them in with a soldering iron. When you repot, I’d suggest positioning at least one root along the side of the pot so you can monitor color (when it’s silver, it’s time to water). If you move it into an opaque pot, I’d recommend giving the skewer method at the top of the forum a try.

I’m not sure what your growing conditions are like, but you may want to play with bark size a bit too. Smaller bark can let you get away with watering less frequently, but there’s a balance between water retention and aeration of the roots. I have my Phals in fine to medium bark which lets me water about every 7 days (longer in cool weather). I mix 6 parts bark, 1 part perlite, and 1 part charcoal. I’ve seen it posted that the charcoal may not be necessary but I have a lot on hand so I’ve continued to use it.

Also, in terms of reblooming your plant will likely need to be in better health. But, if you can put it in a window (as long as it doesn’t get direct sun) or somewhere else where it will experience a seasonal temperature drop, it should initiate a new spike.
