Default Zygonisia Cynosure Blue Bird Care

I got a Zygonisia Cynosure Blue Bird form an orchid show and am having trouble finding care instructions on the web. The vendor told me it doesn't like a lot of light and to water it twice a week and keep it in a potting mix that's dense and has dirt. Does this seem right? I am worried I am going to get root rot based on his instructions. Any guidance would be really helpful as I've never had one like this!

I grow all my zygos similar to cymbidium. Med and small Orchiata bark, a bit of torn up sphag or coir, a handful of coconut husk, a handful or so of LECA. A thick 1-2" base of straight LECA at bottom, and in a shallow saucer of water. It's my understanding that one of the parents (aganisa-something or other) is a fairly wet growing orchid, thus why it can tolerate.

Similar to phals in need for warmth, and light somewhere between phals and oncidium.

That about taps me out knowledge-wise. I'm sure someone else will come along who's more knowledgeable. I'll be interested to see if it's fragrant; I've heard they are.

There was just a thread on this. They like water but dirt? The low light I give that tribe is bright Phal level light. Keep it on the cool side and give good air circulation.

I have a tiny seedling-sized mericlone I'm standing in water so it stays wet. One of the parents, Acacallis cyanea, often is submerged for weeks when the Amazon basin floods during flowering season. Only the flower spike emerges from the water.
