Quick Query re Posting Pics
I wanted to post a few pics of blooms. Even though they're oriented correctly on my PC, they show up sideways after uploading. That drives me crazy, looking at sideways pictures, let alone posting them.
Is there something one can do to correct it?
Thanks in advance

How do you post them?

I have that same problem. When I go to post a pic, I go to 'Go Advanced', then click on the first button (can't recall what is says) and then select a photo, click 'up load file', then 'close this window'. And mine often come in sideways too.

Are you having this problem when you post a photo using the Attachement feature?

I've noticed many (if not all) photos posted here are sideways!

Have you take your picture with a smartphone (iOs ? Android ?) ? It could came from the EXIF (+ problem of interpretation of these EXIFs by the board)
ImpulseAdventure - JPEG / Exif Orientation and Rotation
Before hosting it, you can open it with Photoshop or something similar and save it in the right orientation (even if the picture is ok when you open it at first). It should work.

I take my pics with a LG smartphone.
Save them to the computer hdrive. At this stage all the photos are sideways but my win7 img preview allows to rotate them. No need to save, the prog does this automatically.
Then I uploaf the photos to postimages.org and use the "insert img" feature in the reply box menu.

I'm using an iPhone. Pictures have already been saved to my hard drive, cropped, rotated, etc., before I upload from hard drive to post here.
Usually using the insert pics function (the paperclip) on the "go advanced" part of message. This is the only website where I have the issue. The same picture that comes up sideways when inserting thumbnail directly into message here is orientated correctly if I upload into my photo gallery here.

As an experiment, try to upload it to postimages.org (it's free and you don't need to create an account if you don't want to) and post it here following the procedure I wrote above.
Let's see the result.

The software here interprets almost all images as landscape format. You have to open it in an image manipulation program, rotate it, save it, rotate it back to the proper orientation and save it again. Now upload. It will be oriented properly.
I have to use my desktop for this. I haven't found a program for my Android phone that would let me do it.
