Default What orchid should I get?

I'm bored so I want some orchids.
I usually buy carnivorous plants but I ran out of space for them (I have a super small grow space for them).
So what orchid should I get?
I like potted orchids because I don't have much of a hanging space but I suppose I could hang one on that one branch of the tree (Gets 25-50% ish sun)

I'm a bit picky on orchids.
The really nice ones are either
A. Expensive
B. Hanged
C. Foul-smelling (Looking at you, B. Echinolabium)

So until Corybas comes back in stock (Usually at mid-year?), I'm confused...

There are many posts on this site, why not start reading some, and also look at the pictures in the gallery. See what sorts of conditions each type of orchid needs, see which orchids are interesting to you, and then pick one of the interesting ones where you can provide proper conditions.

All the more reason for you to look through the orchids, and find one that interests you but that you can care for with your conditions and weather.

I have good news!
My mom just gave me permission to hang a foul smelling bulbo on the tree!

It'll probably be echinolabium...

Fantastic! And it is outside so you do not need to smell it all the time when in bloom. I, unfortunately, need to grow my Bulbos indoors most of the year and when they bloom, if indoors...my poor family!

An orchid you might consider one day is Dendrobium auriculatum. It is a little boring compared to the Bulbos but it blooms nearly all the time, is rather pretty out of bloom (looks rather like a fern) and is fragrant in a manner that would please most. It is actually one of my favorite orchids.

Hahaha! How bad is the smell (I'll go looking around the internet for echibolabium) in your house when more than 1 of them bloom?

Ooh, that sounds nice. I looked it up and found pretty little white flowers. I couldn't find it on Indo-eBay but I bet someone will sell it pretty soon. I've seen it before. Isn't there an "Orchid Recommendations" thread somewhere around here? Might be useful for me.

I probably recommended it there, too!
I hope you can find it.
