RO shelf life

I am making a counter top RO sytem, my plan is to hook it up once a week and make 6 gallons of water and store it in two of those 3 gallon pressurized tanks made for RO. Will RO water be good for a week or should I just make it the day I need it?

I'm not that knowledgeable, but I find no reason why it wouldn't be good. It's just water, it won't expire.

Why would you need a pressurized tank for it?I have a counter top RO system that Ray designed for me a few years back. I no longer grow in SH, but I do have carnivorous plants that require RO water. I make up 15 gallon jugs of it maybe every 6weeks or so, and store them in a cabinet.

For plant usage it stores indefinitely.

I believe the RO removes the chlorine, which means bacteria and so on could grow in the tanks.

The RO tanks I saw being sold on Amazon are pressurized. I do not know why, except that if one were to refrigerate a tank for drinking, it might dispense a bit faster.

RO water lasts forever in plastic. It contains no nutriennts.

Water doesn't go bad. Bacteria in it can reproduce, and water stored long-term in plastic may take on a plasticky taste, but those shouldn't hurt the plant. Unless your water outright stinks, it's safe for the plants.

A pressurized tank is just a convenience, to get the water to come out without pouring it. You can siphon it from a bucket, you can pump it from a container... My 150-gallon-per-day unit puts the water into a 55 gallon drum, I take it out with a shallow well pump through a hose or my sprinkler system. For 6 gallons at time, it is a lot easier to just use several containers, the limit being what one can lift, and dispense it with a pump sprayer or pour into a watering can... The only concern about growing anything in the water reservoir is that if it gets light algae will grow. So keep it in the dark and that's not going to happen.Plants don't care about the occasional stray bacterium that might fall into an open container.
