Default Finally set regarding humidity issue.

I am happy to report that I have set up the whole house evaporative humidifier, and since doing so, my entire first floor (my growing area) has remained at a mostly steady 49 to 50% humidity. I love it. I have small fans around to keep the air moving, and moved my cool mist humidifier to my bedroom, and the size of that room is perfect for it.

Happy plants, happy person! It should make a big difference in your own comfort as well as helping the orchids. Congrats.

You would think right? Oddly though, I've been sick - really sick with a nasty cough. I am on antibiotics for it. It started when right around when I began running the humidifiers. My thought was that I go from the very stale very dry air from my work place to the humid air of my house. I've been spending 17-18 hours at work lately, and they have all the windows closed and no fresh air at all. Itl's all centrally controlled. UGH! Everyone's sick, no surprise...
