This is how resilient orchids can be!!
Every day I take a long walk with my dog and pass in front of a flower shop. The poor lady that owns it is sick and had to close for an undetermined period of time leaving behind a few spider plants and Phal hybrids. It's already been about 6 or 7 weeks. Some days I stop to quickly see how the phals are doing. I knew how tough these complex hybrids were, but I never thought that after a month and a half at 15 C(i peaked at the thermostat), low humidity, low light, they'd still look healthy and growing some roots and leaves. You can definitely see how dessicated most roots are, some leaves are showing some signs of dehydration, but they'd surely bounce back within a few days/weeks of proper care!
This is a good lesson. These phals can tolerate much easier underwatering then overwatering. I've seen people kill their phals much quicker then these have survived without any human intervention.
So to all newbie hobbyist, stop worrying so much and just try to provide decent conditions, they'll do fine lol
