Thank you for the advice! I removed the main pot when I came home from work this morning based on other threads I read. My media is the largest bark I could find and I sieved it thoroughly to remove the smallest particles. After repotting the plant pushed itself up in the middle... Possibly a sign of poor aeration? Should I repot the repot?

Default Fate intervened...

Well my pup decided to chase his tail by the orchids stand and knocked it off... So while cleaning and repotting (no damage to the plant thankfully) I took a picture of the roots. They are all firm and seem ok. No longer using the moss in the picture for decoration around the orchid, it is for another project.

Yes, the roots look great. Pot it up and keep it warm. Phals normally hardly notice a repot. And rub the pup's head for me.

I want to go back to one of the first comments you (Sioh) made at the start of this thread, about the narrow leaves meaning that there is or could be a light deficiency. I have several phals (32) and some of them have narrower and darker leaves than others. I have some with nearly round leaves, and are lighter in color. I have been told by members here that that is due to the generic make up of the plant, not necessarily a result of problems with culture. The phals I have that are narrower are quite healthy, and regularly bloom for me. So I guess my question is - which is it, or is it both?

I also want to add that when my phals come out with new leaves, they begin smaller, and as they mature, they become just as the older leaves...
