To move or not to move?!

I've had a Phal going on 3 years. It did not bloom last year but I have since moved. It has now been residing in a NE facing window. It is actively growing. I recently looked up indicators of "too little light" (fearing it may not bloom again) and read that orchid leaves will be dark green. Mine are and was about to move it today and it has a flower spike! So to my question: should I move it or not?

I would agree - if it's growing and healthy then why move it? And while it's true that many Phals' leaves tend to lighten toward a paler, yellower green when the light is higher, there are also Phals that just have dark leaves - I've seen leaves that are almost black on quite healthy, productive Phals. If the blooming is disappointing this year, THEN you might consider moving it.

There is also the shape of the spike to consider. You can influence the line of the spike with gentle, cautious staking, but moving the plant around tends to induce kinks in the spike. It won't improve the appearance of the blooms.

Perhaps you might think of putting a tiny light with a little grow light in it next to it, if you really like the position.

If it's spiking it sounds like it likes the spot well enough. I have some Phals which are a rather dark green, despite getting a lot of sun, so leaf color is not always the best indicator.

A phalaenopsis is one of the least likely plants to suffer from low light conditions in the first place, and plants do adapt.
