Default Can I repot now?

Hello all. I have a Sogo Yucatan V3 that has so many aerial roots, and from looking through the clear pot, it looks like it's packed in there. Can I repot her now? All the roots still have that bulbous look to them and are still in a growing phase. I am not certain if I should wait till spring, but I would rather do it now, to give her time to settle down and hopefully spiked again in January.

I have this one, and boy, it is a strong plant! I found it at the grocery store! all their phals looked awful, having been dried out for weeks if not months....this was the only one tagged, but I bought them all for $2 each!
anyway, they all perked up and I gave most away as gifts...this is such a majestic white, I had to keep her....
most of them were dead on the bottom of those horrible pots, so I took them all out, just whacked the bottoms off and put them in 5" net pots with a bit of large bark and charcoal....man, did they go crazy!! within 2 weeks they were all re-hydrated and saying THANK YOU!
sometimes, you repot even if its the wrong time....but, back to your orchid....I don't think phals are as particular as some, so I think you would be fine to repot now...if the ariel roots can be tucked in, do so....some plants just like to make ariel roots, others are escaping the pot because they don't like whats in there.....
some phals get too long stemmed over time...what I do then can appear brutal...but, I whack the stem down to pottable size....usually those bottom roots are not doing much good....and the ariel roots get buried.....
phals need BIG CHUNKY media....so air can get down in there and drain rapidly when you water...
good luck, and here is my sogo....just sending another fat spike!

I agree: Phals can be potted at any time. They do not have a specific time for growing roots and, when happy, just keep putting out new ones. The roots are not as fussy as those of other orchids, either.

I'm excited to do this. I got myself a soldering iron so I can make more holes and slots in some of the plastic pots I have. I also ordered some kelp Max and it came, so things are just getting better around here!

There's no wrong time to repot a Phal. I just repotted a few of mine and they appreciated it- I can see a lot of dormant root tips suddenly waking up and growing again. Wish I could also get some Kelpmax, sadly I'm on the wrong side of the pond!

Do you mean Sogo Yukidan V3? Take into account your upcoming temperatures. If your house will be somewhat cool this fall and winter, and the current medium is acceptable, I would wait until it warms up in spring.

Because I'm in Europe, and even if Ray does ship internationally, shipping heavy bottles of liquid probably costs much more than the Kelpmax itself. I have yet to find an alternative here made from the same type of kelp. I'll look again, it's been a year or two since I hunted around on google for it.
