Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy new orchid pots online for repotting? I am looking for a 7" pot. I have buying larger ceramic pots at a local garden store, but they are out of stock for the year. One of mine that I had on reserve broke during a move. Thank you for all your suggestions!

Chula Orchids sells a lot of nice pots. The owner is an Orchid Board member. They advertise on and support this site. You can often see their banner at the top.

Try your local charity shop too. Ours is Goodwill and I have found many odds and pots.

Chula is my go-to source of pots, but Kelley's Korner and Tindara are other good sources. All three have better prices and don't hose you down on shipping like RepotMe.

I have bought from Green Barn Orchid Supplies greenbarnorchid.com, they have a very wide selection and excellent service. (Pots I am able to find locally but they have some mahogany wood baskets that are 'way better than any wood baskets that I have been able to find closer to home.)

What's everyone's preference of pot material (plastic,, ceramic or wood baskets)?

The answer to that is a big "DEPENDS".

Depends on your conditions, the plant, your cultural habits and any other variable you can think of.

---------- Post added at 03:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:31 PM ----------

Be specific:

I have name of plant.
My medium of choice is ______.
I grow in window sill/under lights/shadehouse/greenshouse.
My typical summer temp range is ___-___.
My typical summer R/H range is ___-___.

Get the idea? You will still get multiple answers but they will be less general.

Wayne Roberts of Roberts Flower Supply is the guy that supplies many orchid growers in this area. I buy most of my supplies from him:

My preferences: net pots, clear plastic pots with slits on the side, Rand Aircone square pots. If I have a top heavy plant, I pot in a net pot and stick the net pot into a terra cotta pot.
