MSU fertilizer on lawns?

I have a very small back yard and I was wondering if I can put my MSU fertilizer on it? Seems silly but I thought they made it for plants in general and it so happens to work well with orchids. The npk on organic fertilizer is very similar and I feel like msu has a lot of good micronutrients that will help the lawn.

The most efficient / least costly way to fertilize lawns is to provide nitrogen, plus minerals lacking in your soil. I doubt your grass needs all the stuff in MSU fertilizer. Contact your county agricultural extension office. I am sure they have lots of information on maintaining lawns.

You probably have desert soils, as we do... the only fertilizer necessary for grass in metro Phoenix is ammonium sulfate. We have all the minerals grass needs, so we just need a nitrogen source.

Lastly, consider replacing your lawn with drought-tolerant succulent ground covers. Done right, they look far better than lawns. The Denver Botanical Garden has extensive information available on doing this.

Thanks! I am was just curious. My back yard is super tiny and have been thinking about going organic instead of synthetic and then had the thought of maybe I can use this instead. I will probably just buy organic lawn fertilizer but wanted to see what everyone else thought as well.
