Phalaenopsis with dry black spot.

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and I want to share and learn from you in the cultivation of orchids. My collection is small, more phalaenopsis than others. Previously these were in a room and about a year ago they caught a plague of false red spiders, which killed a few plants, product of this mite my orchids have stained leaves and a dry and black fungus in the armpits of leaves that it seems Fusarium, I am applying daconil, I would like to hear your advice.

It's hard to give advice without photos. Many people are unable to post photos until they make 5 posts total. As I write your post count is at 1. If you reply to anybody else's post (hit the Quote button at the bottom right of their message) that counts as a post.

Fusarium is a wet mold. Dry leaf tissue that is black is unlikely to be Fusarium. It is not a good idea to apply fungicides unless you know what the fungus is, and whether the fungus is susceptible to the fungicide you use. Any given fungicide will only kill some types of fungi, and not others.

Thanks for answering. This fungus started after the leaves were damaged by the mites, is black and is also in the leaves, does not progress quickly, but slow. The plants continue their development but I worry about how this will end, I will put photos when you consider them, greetings.

Once you manage to post a photo it will be easier to try to find our what is the black spots. It may not even be a fungus, some bacterial infections also lead to dry looking black spots (ex: Acidovorax).

Let me know if you still have trouble posting photos, with 6 posts you should be able to do it. We had put a minimum posts limit because of huge spam problems in the past.

Hi Merita,
If you are using a browser window on a desktop, phone or tablet, the very basic photo posting process is like this:

- Write a new message, or edit an older one. Click the Go Advanced button below the white text box.
- Look down to the Manage Attachments button. Press that.
- A new window opens up. Use that to navigate to the photo on your device and upload it.
- The photo will appear in your message.

Once you can do this, you can find out how to place photos in different places in your message. But for now we will be able to see the photos you post.
