Default What's going on with this bloom?

This is my paph's bud. It looks really really weird. The dorsal sepal seems to be fused with the lateral sepal and the pouch is backwards. What?

This will be one heck of a mutation! Can't wait to see it in full bloom and show it to you orchid people

Hard to see exactly what's going on until it opens a bit further, but this kind of developmental problem (not a mutation) happens sometimes for no apparent reason. Most likely future flowers will be normal.

I had several strange blooms on my first-time bloomer paph. Bernice. I was told that often first blooming paphs (and other plants) often have strange flowers.
