Yeah, I tried fishing line originally for mine and it seemed like no matter how careful I was to insulate it from the roots, they would find a way to get gouged by it eventually.

Bulbopedilum, I wasn't necessarily suggesting that you would have to find jute specifically. Any natural fiber twine/string should remove itself in time.
