2 Oncidiums in the local Grocery store!
I was shocked this afternoon to see 2 orchids that weren't phals in the local grocery store. I know that places have random other orchids from time to time, but it was still a bit of a surprise. They had an Oncidium 'Heaven Scent' and an Oncidium 'Dancing Lady'. Both were $16.99. I was very tempted by the 'Heaven Scent'. It looked nice (I didn't do a thorough inspection). Sadly, at least one of the pbulbs of the 'Dancing Lady' (a new one) was completely floppy, and I think there may have been more rot. The 'Dancing Lady' had a huge branching spike with probably 20-30 buds and 10-15 blooms.
I already have 2 Oncidiums, and I'm thinking that my next acquisitions may be a Catasetinae and a Vanda, so I passed. If they had been marked down, I may have succumbed.
