Young spike, start training it up? Male
Default Young spike, start training it up?

I just bought a Mtssa Kauai's Choice 'Tropical Fragrance'. It's got a second inflorescence coming up. The second inflorescence is under a leaf that's leaning way out to the side. If I want this spike to be more vertical, should I start training it on a stake with clips now?

Can these be trained in the upside down J-shape like you sometimes see a phal spike?

Usually I rotate the plant. The spikes also follow the light.

You will get more graceful spikes it you wait until later to stake them. Keep the plant in the same orientation toward the light as they develop, pick one and stick with it, don't keep changing. For now, that spike will soon be long you can nudge the leaf to the side and let it go.
