Grmcym new inflorescence or something else? Male
Default Grmcym new inflorescence or something else?

Am I safe to assume that this is a new inflorescence starting at the bottom of the existing inflorescence? Or is it something else, like a new pbulb?

With these, it is quite difficult to be 100% sure, but I'd venture to say it is more likely that it is a new shoot, not a new inflorescence.

Interesting, and fantastic at the same time. Not that I would be adverse to more blooms, either.

Thanks

I thought the new growths generally came from near the newest growths while this is nearest the oldest growth.

Ok, another question.

In the first picture, the circle on the left is what we think is an new growth. What is the thing on the right? a growth or inflorescence that was still born? There are several similar things on my cattleya. It wouldn't surprise me too much for them to be still born since I think I may have set her back a bit mainly by over-fertilizing and then repotting a little early when I realized that there was a problem.

And then what is the thing coming out of the bottom of the newest pbulb (opposite side of the same plant), another pbulb or another inflorescence?
